Catalysing Processes to Include Women in City Movements
This is about bringing back the missing and absent women in leadership teams. Given that women comprise over 50% of a city’s population and local Church congregations, it is vital that they are included in leadership roles within city movements. To truly transform cities, women must be adequately represented in these leadership teams.
We advocate for the inclusion of women in city movements and work to enable an environment of mutuality, and inclusion, where men and women can collaborate to minister together for the transformation of their cities.

Equipping Women for Leadership and Transformational Influence
If women are to step up and lead, they must first be equipped to do so.
Our focus is also on empowering and preparing women for leadership roles and transformative influence within their cities. True leaders are those who serve with a servant’s heart, willing to stand against injustice and act as a bridge between men and women to identify challenges and bring about relevant solutions.
The Disruptive Women Movement equips women to lead like Christ, with both passion and skill.

Identifying Gaps in Cities for Strategic Interventions Through Collaboration
The Disruptive Women Movement advocates for mapping and researching cities to identify areas of need and gaps that must be addressed for women to flourish. This is not a one-size-fits-all approach, nor is it about reinventing the wheel. Instead, the movement focuses on synergizing with existing change agents to maximize impact. It is about fostering unity and collaboration among various stakeholders to collectively implement strategic disruptions that effectively bridge these gaps.
CASE STUDY
The Chennai Story: Esther Challenge
Using the opportunity to commemorate International Women’s Day, the Esther Challenge, conducted a survey to understand the prevalence of domestic violence among Christian women in Chennai city. A total of 200 women from 20 churches participated in the survey. This survey helped the Churches in Chennai to understand the extent of DV among women thus identifying the need for Churches to be safe spaces for those within and the communities around them.

Bringing Together the Whole Church to Accelerate Change

The Disruptive Women Movement is not just about women working to improve conditions for themselves; it’s about fostering unity and mutual support between women and men. Our movement encourages men to join hands with women for the well-being of all. We strive to build alliances where men and boys support women and girls in mutual flourishing.
